Disney World, day 1

...The next day, we met up with my sister-in-law Janine, niece- Sophie and nephew- Spencer. They flew in from Virginia to spend a few days in Disney World with us. It would not have been the same with out Janine and those little people.

Everybody on the ferry over to the Park.

These faces pretty much sum up how everyone felt about the Christmas break lines and crowds...

The parade that they have EVERYDAY (I think maybe a couple of times a day...) was so so fun to watch! It's amazing how much effort the entire staff puts into making DW so magical for little people...Ok and big people too:) They had practically every character come by dancing and singing and on floats. Nothing was half-assed either! They put on the same EXACT parade every time.
You could not get Sophie and Spencer's attention away from it all! Janine thought it might be a little boring and long for them, but it they were in awe the entire time. My favorite part was when S & S waved to every character that waved at them and Spencer said, "HI, _________(Beast, Woody, Cinderella, ect.)!!!!!" When he didn't know the name of the dancing gingerbread men, he said,"Hi Candy!!" So adorable.
Spencer's favorite D character is Buzz Lightyear right now, so we had to go on his ride (which at 12pm was about 2 hours long...). He even waved and said, "HI BUZZ!!" to the robot Buzz. I still can't get over how magical S & S made everything for us!- I swear Ryan and I almost screamed when we saw Mary Poppins... well, maybe just Ryan;)
Poor Cari injured her knee pretty badly our first night, when running to each ride at Universal Studios, and so she was in a wheelchair both days at DW:( The upside of her injury was that she was our "fast pass" to the front of almost every line! AND she was a cozy chair when he kiddos needed a break from walking. Go Cari!

Butter Beer

For Christmas my dad treated the family to a crazy/fun trip to Florida. He made sure we hit all of the cool theme parks and then tour around were he grew up (Cocoa Beach, FL), which was really neat see as a 21 year old and not so much when I was 7... The day we flew in my padre sent Cari, Sean, Sam, me and Ryan right over to Universal studios, 2 hours before the park closed. The weather was nice and cool, all of the little kids and big crowds had left already, our hotel gave us free Fast Passes to the front of every line, we only had 2 hours to hit every single ride we possibly could, and we were in HEAVEN. Everyone was so giddy, sprinting to each ride and passing up all the lines (they were super short compared to a normal day, but we still felt cool using our fast passes to walk onto rides). The highlights of the night were: The Incredible Hulk roller-coaster (which we rode like 5 times), The Wizarding World of Harry Potter (you have to experience it. Such an amazing place.), and BUTTER BEER (tastes like you are drinking melted butter... that sounds disgusting... but dang ma, we couldn't get enough). I'll have to split the trip into a couple of posts because it was so action-packed!

Sam and I were stoked to finally escape the water roller coaster. We were running so fast to each ride and saw there was NO ONE on this one (I wonder why??), we didn't realize that we were about to get soaked...and then we were trapped.
I love this picture of Ryan because he is super pumped and it looks like he has a goofy short arm:)
Cari and Sean getting on The Hulk for the 5th time.
Yep, more Butter Beer with our feast.

Watch out for the flying car!! Looking back at this picture, I wish I would've just tried to look cute like Ry...
PS That sweatshirt is Ryan's and apparently I looked like a hobo all night! ...But I was very grateful for it...
